The Vibe Recording uses a variety of industry standard harware and software. Check this page for updates as we are in a constant state of Upgrade...
We use a Digidesign Control 24 console
(with full Protools automation for those of you who might not know).
Our main recording Interface is the PCIe based Pro Tools HD 8 system with an Aurora Lynx 16 (ultra clean high end analog to digital converters)
Also in the picture is a Blue Robbie mic preamp (so nice), and a SSL Duende (our mixing staple) and a Digimax interface.
Our Studio monitors are JBL 4328 automatic room-calibrating monsters. Under the desk there is a JBL 4312 12" sub
Behind the desk there is a Mac Pro Tower with dual Quad core 2.33ghz processors.
Our current Software lineup includes Protools HD 8, Waves Gold Bundle (the industry standard), Waves L316 Multimaximizer Bundle (one stop software mastering solution), MOTU Machfive 2 (amazing sounding software synth and sampler), Celemony Melodyne (transparent pitch correction), Synthogy Ivory (has been called the best sounding piano synth on the market), Antares Auto-Tune EFX (to T-Pain your vocals), SSL Duende X-Verb, X-EQ and X-Compressor in addition to the real SSL channel with the infamous Bus compressor (these plugins use the same coding as the SSL C200 digital console) iZotope RX (incredible restoration software) and Bias Peak Pro 6.

the left rack is full of some classic gear. From top to bottom is Monster Power PRO3500, Alesis PEQ-450 (Fully Parametric EQ), Alesis ADAT XT, Tascam DA-38 and a Tascam CD-RW5000.
The Middle Rack has a Monster Power PRO3500, Lexicon PCM70, Lexicon MPX 100, Lexicon PCM41, Korg DRV3000, EMU Proteus 2000, EMU Orbit, EMU Xtreme Lead-1, and a Tascam CD-A500.
The Right Rack has a Universal Audio 6176 (2 AMAZING classics on countless hit records with the Putnam 610B Tube Preamp and the 1176 Compressor), The Manley Dual Tube Direct, DBX 166XL, DBX 263 and a bunch of Neutrik patch bays.

On the left is our leather couch... could we really call ourselves The Vibe if we didn't have it?
In the middle is a Roland RS-9 88 key synth.
On the right you see Rob Grad singing into a Neumann TLM 193 Mic in ISO booth #2
Our drum kit is an Yamaha Absolute Custom
We pride ourselves on great drums sounds with a combination of room design, kit and mic selection. We use Zildjian cymbols, and DW hardware (including 9000 series double bass drum pedal). We use many different microphones on the Kit including (pictured here) (2) AKG 414's, (3) Shure SM81's, (4) Sennheiser 421's, (2) Shure SM57's, a AKG D112, a Studio Projects C4, and a Audix D6. Thats not including room mics!

Can you guess how many pieces of wood are on this wall? If your guess was around 7500 you are pretty close (or have already taken the tour). The "wood wall" provides diffusion on the front wall of our record room which faces the drums and stands 12 feet tall by 12 feet wide. The side "Wave walls" are arced at 15 degrees slopes to prevent standing waves. The room has a unique, lively feel without unwanted flutter. We've yet to meet a drummer that didn't love playing in this room.

In the left ISO booth we have a Rode NTK Tube Mic. We also have Marshall JCM2000 and Sodano Decatone heads.
The "Amp Chambers" displayed in the middle are the home to a Marshall 1960A and a Mesa Boogie 4x12 cabinet. The cabinets can be accessed via 12 guage speaker pass-throughs from the vocal booths, record or control room. That means you can have your amp cranked to 11 while listening to the recorded signal through the headphones at a reasonable level. the chambers doors weigh over 100lbs each as they are filled with sand and rubber matt.
The Picture on the right shows the inside of the right ISO booth with the Neumann TLM 193 and one of the five pairs of AKG K240 headphones in the studio.
